【 STAR MEDIA GROUP BERHAD 】NUSAJAYA: The state’s middle and low income earners can now look forward to owning homes as the government has allocated RM360mil to build homes in four areas statewide.

The four projects will be in Ulu Tiram, Masai, Permas Jaya and Bandar Tenggara.

Housing and Local government committee chairman Datuk Md Jais Sarday said the building of these homes shows that the state and federal governments were always focused on providing homes which were conducive to Johoreans.

“The state government, in all its budgets since 2014, has been announcing various initiatives to help middle and low income earners own homes,” he added.

Jais stressed that Johor was the third highest after Kuala Lumpur and Sabah to benefit from such public housing initiatives.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak is expected to officiate all the four projects during the Ekspo Johor Berkemajuan 2017 in Kota Iskandar between Oct 6 and 14.

Meanwhile, State Unity and Human resources committee chairman R. Vidyanathan said the state was committed to developing technical and vocational education (TVET) via a skills training development master plan.

He added that the state government was committed to ensuring Johoreans benefited from the plan.

“We want to realise Johor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin’s call to produce Johoreans who are educated, trained and skilled,” he said, adding that the implementation would be done via Skills Johor Sdn Bhd.

The expo, which would be held for nine days, is expected to attract 500,000 people.

The expo will focus on three main clusters that would spur Johor’s position as Malaysia’s new economic powerhouse.

Among the clusters are the state government’s short- and long-term plans, a cluster involving the state’s 10 districts and another on Johor’s aspiration.
