Date:2015/03/01

KUALA LUMPUR -- Paramount Corp Bhd posted a lower pre-tax profit of RM16.55 million in its fourth quarter ended Dec 31, 2014 compared to RM21.31 million in the same period last year.

In a filing to Bursa Malaysia Tuesday, the group attributed the lower pre-tax profit for the quarter to weaker earnings recorded by its property and education divisions.

Revenue for the quarter rose to RM157.65 million versus RM135.44 million in the same period a year earlier, on the back of higher progressive billings registered by the property development segment.

For its full-year performance, Paramount Corp's pre-tax profit went up to RM85.75 million compared to RM75.09 million previously, due to higher earnings recorded by the property division

However, its revenue was slightly lower at RM510.04 million from RM512.07 million a year earlier.

Moving forward, Paramount Corp is expected to deliver another good set of results for its current financial year, barring any unforeseen circumstances.
